5 Hair & Makeup Trends That Will Have You Set For Summer Racing

Want to know what looks are trending for summer days (and nights) spent at the races?

We chatted with our Raceday Ambassador, Hannah Marinkovich, to get her top five hair and make up trends to get you set for time spent trackside here at Ellerslie.

Says Hannah…

Ahead of the Barfoot & Thompson Twilight Summer Night next week, I’m thinking about hair and makeup looks and how to embrace them with the racing season ahead.

Summer is in the air and there are some gorgeous beauty trends that can be incorporated into your raceday looks.

Here are some of my favourites…

Braids.

Braids are everywhere at the moment and with so many beautiful types around, it can be easy to incorporate one into your hair style and even design your millinery around it.

Going for a bold ponytail braid or incorporating a smaller one will add a bit of drama to your outfit.

Fresh, dewy highlighted skin.

This one has been around for a while and it’s here to stay.

Having a fresh, glowy foundation is the perfect spring look and the Barfoot & Thompson Twilight Summer Night is the perfect raceday to amp up a bit of the highlight as it goes into the evening! Just keep it dewy, not glittery.

The ’S’ wave.

This is one of my favourite ways to curl hair – it is glamourous, but not too ‘done’ and has a cool chick vibe to it.

It looks amazing on long or shorter hair too.

Brushed-up brows.

This one is for the bold! If you have amazing full brows then make the most of it, as brushed up brows look so fresh and youthful.

Using a pencil to fill them in then a clear brow gel to brush them up is the perfect finishing touch to your makeup look.

A bold, red lip.

This one is always in fashion and I love how dramatic and polished it can make your whole look.

Master it by using a pencil liner first, then fill in your lipstick with a lipstick brush. If you make a mistake, clean it up with a little concealer on a brush. This will really make it pop too.
