Tickets are required only on SkyCity Boxing Day Races. On all other racedays, El Rancho is free.

All ages welcome on our racedays!

Round up the little cowboys and cowgirls and head on over to the El Rancho Family Zone – the ultimate country-western playground where fun is always on the agenda!

Whether they’re bouncing their boots off on the bouncy castles, taking on a round of mini golf, or getting stuck into a range of games and activities, there’s plenty to keep young wranglers entertained all day long.

Packed with hands-on fun and a whole lot of yeehaw spirit, El Rancho is the perfect place for families to take a break from the trackside action while the kids let loose. Expect laughter, adventure and a few friendly challenges as they explore everything this western wonderland has to offer.

Depending on the raceday and weather, this area is either inside the Newmarket Room, on the Newmarket Lawn, at The Infield, or on the Sunline Lawn near the stables.

    • On-site parking is free and accessed through Derby Downs Place
    • Auckland Thoroughbred Racing encourages responsible drinking and intoxicated persons will not be granted entry to Ellerslie Racecourse
    • A dress code applies in hospitality areas. Please click here for more information
    • Tickets are non-refundable and prices include GST. A separate booking fee of $2.00 per ticket and a 2% transaction will apply upon purchase
    • Members please contact [email protected] for exclusive discount to be applied for hospitality packages and tickets
    • Promotional photographs, social media content & film footage will be taken at this event. By entering the racecourse, event-goers consent to use of their image by the Club & New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing for promotional purposes
    • Entry into the Birdcage Bash is free for racegoers after the last race; R18; Dress code applies; Entry subject to space. Intoxicated or disorderly persons not permitted or tolerated. Bar and event close time is at the discretion of management. Drink limits may apply
