The LOVERACING.NZ Pony Scurry Series is an exciting initiative aimed at introducing the next generation to the sport of thoroughbred racing.
The Series provides an opportunity for young riders to showcase their skills and compete in a fun and supportive environment, while also offering a hands-on experience in the racing industry, nurturing a love for horses and racing from an early age.
The Series continues to be a big hit among both pony enthusiasts and racing fans across the country.
If you're bringing the younger family members to our Spring Raceday, we've got their day sorted.
Free general admission includes access to our El Rancho kids play space.
(Kids entertainment items installed subject to change and weather conditions).
And pick up a FREE junior colouring pack from the Raceday Office (ground floor, Ascot Stand).
Free overnight event carparking is accessible via 16 Derby Downs Place.
Mobility / accessible parking, drop-offs and foot traffic should enter via 100 Ascot Avenue. All cars entering off this road will need to exit the grounds via Mitchelson Street.
The tie-up stalls at Ellerslie are open for everyone to enjoy a close-up look at the horses.
For everyone’s safety, please stick to the white-pebbled public accessways when you’re in this area and avoid entering any restricted areas unless you have the required accreditation.
