Spring into the new racing season

A relaxed day out for the whole family

Celebrate the new racing season with a relaxed day out at Spring Raceday at Ellerslie.

Perfect for families, friends, or anyone looking for an easy way to enjoy a spring afternoon, this event offers live racing, plenty of space to spread out, and the option to pack your own picnic.

Grab something tasty from one of the on-site food outlets or bring your favourite snacks and unopened, non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy in our outdoor public areas.

Plus, the kids will be kept happy with free entertainment including a bouncy castle and swingball games to keep them smiling between races.

It’s a simple, feel-good day at the races – no fuss, just fresh air and trackside fun.

Fun for the whole family

If you're bringing the younger family members to our Spring Raceday, we've got their day sorted.

Free general admission will get you access to our bouncy castle and swingball sets which are free to use (subject to weather conditions).

    • On-site parking is free and accessed through Derby Downs Place
    • All bars close shortly after the last race
    • Auckland Thoroughbred Racing encourages responsible drinking and intoxicated persons will not be granted entry to Ellerslie Racecourse
    • A dress code applies in hospitality areas. Please click here for more information
    • Tickets are non-refundable and prices include GST. A separate booking fee of $2.00 per ticket will also apply upon purchase
    • Promotional photographs, social media content & film footage will be taken at this event. By entering the racecourse, event-goers consent to use of their image by the Club & New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing for promotional purposes
