Kicking off the season in style
Proisir Plate Day – regarded as one of New Zealand’s most prestigious early-season racedays.
Join us on course to witness the first Group 1 of the season, with a quality line-up of horses looking to take out the Proisir Plate (1400m). For those keen, we are kicking the season off with the inaugural Ellerslie Spring Punt Off competition, one not to miss.
We cater for all your food and beverage needs with delicious and hassle-free food & hospitality options available on course or pack a picnic with your favourite treats (including any non-alcoholic, unopened drinks) to enjoy in any of our outdoor, public areas.
Proisir Plate Day is proud to support the Cancer Society and Daffodil Day once again in 2026. Help us show our support for the many New Zealanders and their whānau affected by cancer.
There will be Cancer Society Daffodil Day donation opportunities on course throughout the day. We encourage everyone attending to get behind this important cause and make a donation if you can.
Every contribution helps the Cancer Society provide support and information to people living with cancer, fund vital research and help reduce the impact of cancer in our communities.

Free overnight event carparking is accessible via 16 Derby Downs Place.
Mobility / accessible parking, drop-offs and foot traffic should enter via 100 Ascot Avenue. All cars entering off this road will need to exit the grounds via Mitchelson Street.
If you’ve renewed your Club membership, a reminder that members enjoy exclusive complimentary parking in the Members’ Carpark, accessible via 100 Ascot Avenue. Other than the main public raceday carpark in the infield, this is the only carpark available to members. Entry requires your ATR membership badge for this raceday.
