TAB Karaka Millions | The party is ON

The TAB Karaka Millions has quite the reputation.

Incredible racing – tick

Million-dollar purses – tick

Glamour in spades – tick

But perhaps what tips this raceday over the edge into **iconic** status is the party.

With the whole raceday staged under the setting sun, the evolution from raceday to party feels seamless and boy do you guys know how to let your hair down.

2024’s event has taken on a whole new meaning with the event also acting at Ellerslie’s return to the spotlight and, with hospitality tickets selling out in a matter of days, we’re gearing up for the biggest and best TAB Karaka Millions you’ve ever seen.

Let me break it down for you…the quick-fire 6 race card culminates in one of our $1m+ features and then, when the horses have headed home to bed, we turn up the volume and things. get. lit.

We’ve got our resident Ellerslie band (they bring the bangers) lined up to kick off the evening, then it wouldn’t be the TAB Karaka Millions without a special something.  We think fireworks are so last year (and so do all our neighbourhood pets) so we’ve moved with the times and have planned an incredible laser light show (think Coachella vibes) scheduled to kick off in the Birdcage at 9.15pm.

There’ll be no time to recover from that visual spectacle before the inimitable Sweet Mix Kids hit the decks and play us into the night.

Sound like you?  The afterparty is open to ALL (yes, that means you too GA) but normal admission conditions apply (aka, don’t be too drunkety drunk drunk, and have that ID handy – full conditions below).  Head to the horse chute between the Ascot and Ellerslie Stands from 7.40pm to get amongst.   We’ve done a little bit of feng sui too and the stage is now bigger and better than ever before and located in the Birdcage itself (instead of under the Cuvée roof).

We are expecting a large crowd so if queue’s aren’t your vibe, head over to the Newmarket Lawn where ‘Afterparty 2.0’ with Sean Hill on the decks (8 – 9.30pm) will be going off.

It’s been a while between drinks here at Ellerslie so if you need a little reminder, check out the last Karaka Millions we had here at Ellerslie to get that anticipation going.

Please note that while entry into any of the above areas is free for racegoers after the last race, it is subject to capacity, R18, a dress code applies (The Birdcage only) and intoxicated persons will not be permitted. Event close time is at the discretion of management and disorderly people will be evicted from the event. Also note that we are expecting a capacity crowd and so these areas – including bars and bathrooms – may be very busy at periods. Drink limits could apply.
