This is your chance to see the BRAND NEW StrathAyr track in action prior to Ellerslie's big return scheduled for TAB Karaka Millions night.

Bring the family & your favourite summer accessories – jandals, deck chairs, sun umbrellas, shorts and a picnic – and enjoy the great outdoors in a relaxing and fun atmosphere at Ellerslie Racecourse for the new track’s unofficial opening.

​We cater for all your food and beverage needs with delicious and hassle-free food options available on course or pack a picnic with your favourite treats (including any non-alcoholic, unopened drinks) to enjoy in any of our outdoor, public areas on course.

If you're bringing the younger family members to our Summer Raceday, we've got their day sorted.

Free general admission will get you access to our bouncy castle and swingball sets which are free to use.

    • On-site parking is free
    • All bars close shortly after the last race
    • Auckland Thoroughbred Racing encourages responsible drinking and intoxicated persons will not be granted entry to Ellerslie Racecourse
    • A dress code applies in hospitality areas. Please click here for more information
    • Tickets are non-refundable and prices include GST. A separate booking fee of $1.50 per ticket will also apply upon purchase
    • Promotional photographs, social media content & film footage will be taken at this event. By entering the racecourse, event-goers consent to use of their image by the Club & New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing for promotional purposes
