Whether you’re coming for the horses or just a reason to catch up with friends or family in the sun, Summer Raceday delivers a relaxed atmosphere, on-track action, and all the essential ingredients for a great day out.
Pack a picnic or grab something tasty on course, lay out your rug on the lawn, or head to the grandstand for a prime view of the finishes.
Younger family members will be entertained with free use of a bouncy castle and swing ball games, a giant throwing / target wall and giant garden games on the Newmarket Lawn – and there’s plenty of space to spread out and make a day of it.
With plenty of space to spread out and the excitement of thoroughbred racing on the track, it’s the perfect way to spend a summer afternoon in Auckland.
General admission is free – all you need to bring is your crew and your sunscreen.

If you're bringing the younger family members, we've got their day sorted.
Free general admission will get you access to mini golf holes, bouncy castle, swingball (lawn tennis) games, a giant throwing / target wall and giant garden games which are free for all to enjoy on the Newmarket Lawn.
(In the event of poor weather, anything 'indoor-friendly' will be moved into the Newmarket Room on the ground floor of the Ellerslie Stand but the other items may have to give it a miss).
Thanks to fashion partner Tan In The City, racegoers can get $5 off any tanning service at their salons.

The tie-up stalls at Ellerslie are open for everyone to enjoy a close-up look at the horses.
