Witness Group 1 racing at Ellerslie this September
Proisir Plate Day – what has been regarded as one of New Zealand’s most prestigious early-season racedays – is moving north to Ellerslie from Hawke’s Bay for 2025 complete with a brand-new name.
Join us on course to witness the first Group 1 of the season, with a quality line-up of horses looking to take out the $400,000 Proisir Plate (1400m).
Free family entertainment is also on the cards with a bouncy castle, swing ball sets and a mini golf course ready and waiting (subject to weather conditions).
Last race is at 5.08pm (approx) THEN join us in the the TAB Winning Post (ground floor, Ascot Stand) to watch the All Blacks take on South Africa.
Timings are approximate and subject to change. Admission into the TAB Winning Post is free after the last race but requires proof of a TAB account for entry prior to that time.

Free general admission gets you access to our bouncy castle, mini golf course and swingball sets which are free to use.
After the racing wraps up, keep the excitement going in the TAB Winning Post (ground floor, Ascot Stand) and catch the All Blacks take on South Africa live.
Entry into the TAB Winning Post is free after the last race, or show proof of a TAB account for access earlier.
Free overnight event carparking is accessible via 16 Derby Downs Place.
Mobility / accessible parking, drop-offs and foot traffic should enter via 100 Ascot Avenue. All cars entering off this road will need to exit the grounds via Mitchelson Street.
