Cuvée is a go-to for those wanting to spend New Year’s Day at the races with great company, easy access to food and drinks, and a prime view of the action.

Ideal for groups of friends, family or out-of-town visitors, this social precinct offers a seamless way to take in the first raceday of the year.

Located opposite the winning post and beside the Birdcage, Cuvée puts you right in the thick of it – with both indoor comfort and a covered outdoor area from which to watch the horses parade, race and return.

You’ll also have a clear line to the super screen, so you won’t miss a beat.

Your Cuvée experience includes:

  • A welcome drink on arrival – your choice of a classic Bloody Mary or a refreshing Mimosa to start the year in style

  • Breads and dips served to your table

  • A generous buffet-style main course

  • A selection of petite fours, served to your table for a sweet post-lunch moment

  • Gourmet mini Wagyu beef pies for a flavoursome afternoon snack

  • Access to a cash bar offering still and sparkling wine, local and imported beers, RTDs and non-alcoholic options

  • Seating is at tables of 10. Groups of fewer than 10 may be seated with others and be required to share table items such as breads and dips.

    • On-site parking is free and accessed through Derby Downs Place
    • All bars close shortly after the last race with the exception of Cuvée. Note that intoxicated and / or disorderly persons will not be permitted or tolerated. R18. Dress code applies.
    • Auckland Thoroughbred Racing encourages responsible drinking and intoxicated persons will not be granted entry to Ellerslie Racecourse

    • Tickets are non-refundable and prices include GST. A separate booking fee of $2.00 per ticket will also apply upon purchase
