Set on the third floor of the Ellerslie Stand, The Top Bar offers a great view of the action below with access to covered outdoor seating when it’s time to watch the racing.

With casual seating, background music, and easy access to food and drinks, it’s an ideal place for groups looking for a laid-back way to enjoy Auckland’s biggest night of racing.

Your ticket into The Top Bar includes:

  • A welcome drink on arrival

  • A food voucher to redeem within the precinct

  • Cash bar featuring Champagne, sparkling wine, selected standard & premium still & sparkling wines, local & imported beers, spirits & non-alcoholic beverages

  • Additional food available to purchase on the evening

  • A mix of unreserved tables, bar leaners and chairs to base yourself from within the comfort of the air-conditioned room, plus access to covered outdoor seating overlooking the track

    • Auckland Thoroughbred Racing encourages responsible drinking and intoxicated persons will not be granted entry to Ellerslie Racecourse

    • All public and shared hospitality bars close shortly after the last race with the exception of the The Grove (Newmarket Lawn) and the Birdcage Bash onsite afterparty (Birdcage, ground floor, Ascot Stand)
    • Entry into The Grove and the Birdcage Bash is free for racegoers after the last race; R18; Dress code applies; Entry subject to space, Intoxicated or disorderly persons not permitted or tolerated. Bar and event close time is at the discretion of management. Drink limits may apply
    • Tickets are non-refundable and prices include GST. A separate booking fee of $2.00 per ticket will also apply upon purchase
