Ellerslie Punter of the Year

Be in to win $15,000 in the Ellerslie Punter of the Year competition – coming to Eagle Technology Raceday in 2026.

Hosted oncourse at Ellerslie on 21 February 2026 by Andrew Lacy, this competition is designed for keen punters ready to put their skills to the test on a huge day of racing.

It all plays out alongside a blockbuster racing programme featuring the Group 1 $1,000,000 Al Basti Equiworld Dubai New Zealand Oaks and the Group 1 Ōtaki-Māori WFA Classic, plus key lead-ups to Champions Day’s feature races.

What can I win?

There is a $15,000 cash prize for the winning team. The winner of the main prize will be the team who has achieved the highest balance after dividends have been paid on the last scheduled race at either Ellerslie or Otaki.

Who is eligible to enter?

This is a team event (teams must have a minimum of 1 team member).

All entrants must have a TAB/Betcha online account to enter the competition.

$1,000 of betting funds must be loaded into the nominated team leader’s online TAB/Betcha account no later than 30 minutes prior to the first scheduled race at either Ellerslie or Otaki (only one TAB/Betcha account to be used per entry.  You will be asked to verify these funds).

A minimum of $100 must be invested on a minimum of 10 races.  These can be either at Ellerslie or Otaki.

How Do I Enter?

Form your team and nominate a Team Leader.

The Team Leader enters the team by purchasing team members’ hospitality tickets for the event ($55pp) – following purchase, they will have an opportunity to add their team’s name and; agreeing to the Terms and Conditions.
