This precinct takes what is already an extraordinary day to the next level. This trackside location, that channels the laidback but chic feel of a Marlborough winery, is the hottest place to witness the day’s Group racing action.

The Grove in association with Leefield Station offers you the chance to enjoy a range of beverages (included in your ticket price) including the delicious selection from Leefield Station, food throughout the day to graze upon, a resident DJ to keep the vibe just so…plus the sound of the track’s “thunder” as the horses race past you on their way to the riches of the winning post. And we will even throw in a racebook so you can ‘track talk’ like a pro.

There’ll be unreserved seating and cocktail style furniture (if you didn’t upgrade to the reserved table of 10) to keep you comfy all day long.

This space is also home to the day’s official on-site afterparty headlined by New Zealand icons, Zed.

All that’s left for you to do is find some friends keen to come and enjoy a taste of the high life at Trackside Derby Day!

- All bars close shortly after the last race with the exception of the on-site afterparty

- Auckland Thoroughbred Racing encourages responsible drinking and intoxicated persons will not be granted entry to Ellerslie Racecourse
