If your ideal Boxing Day includes DJs on deck, food trucks, ice cold drinks and a buzzing crowd – welcome to your scene.

The Paddock, in association with The Grand Tour, is your all-day summer session with live music, good vibes and great mates.

Located on the Barrett Lawn, you’ll still see and feel the thrill of the races happening nearby, but this precinct is alll about the social scene.

Just be ready to snap up those tickets fast because you definitely don’t want to be the one on the sidelines scrolling Insta while all your mates are having the time.

What's in it for you?

Please note:

  • This precinct is R18
  • Whilst you’re encouraged to dress up when joining us at the races, there’s no specific dress code in The Paddock or general admission areas on course. All clothing should be tidy and presentable, however, and if you are planning on going into other hospitality areas or grandstands while on course (or entering Fashions in the Field!), just note that a dress code may apply in those areas

    • On-site parking is free and accessed through Derby Downs Place
    • This precinct is strictly R18
    • All bars close shortly after the last race with the exception of The Paddock and Cuvée (hospitality ticketholders welcome into either precinct after the last race. A dress code applies in Cuvée)
    • This space is R18; intoxicated persons will not be permitted or tolerated
    • Auckland Thoroughbred Racing encourages responsible drinking and intoxicated persons will not be granted entry into, or tolerated in, Ellerslie Racecourse
    • While no official dress code is in place in this precinct, a tidy presentation of dress is appreciated. A dress code applies in most hospitality precincts on course. Please click here for more information, particularly if you have tickets into other areas
    • Tickets are non-refundable and prices include GST. A separate booking fee of $2.00 per ticket will also apply upon purchase
    • Promotional photographs, social media content & film footage will be taken at this event. By entering the racecourse, event-goers consent to use of their image by the Club & New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing for promotional purposes
