Bonecrusher Stakes Day is all-new for Pukekohe Park and is the perfect excuse to get your favourite people together.

Whether you’re rounding up the team for an end-of-year get-together, organising a catch-up with friends or family, or simply want something fun (and free) to do locally, this summertime raceday ticks every box. Expect a quality line-up of racing action – including two Group 3 features, the Concorde Stakes and the Bonecrusher Stakes – paired with all the colour and atmosphere that makes a day at the track so good.

Planning a picnic?
Picnic lunches are welcome in our outdoor public areas (no BYO alcohol), making it an easy option for those wanting to spread out on the lawn with friends or family.

Bringing the kids?
There’s free children’s entertainment throughout the afternoon, along with a special appearance from the North Pole’s most famous visitor, ensuring younger racegoers are well looked after.

For groups looking to elevate their outing, a selection of paid hospitality options are available – perfect for those wanting reserved spaces, food and beverage packages, or a more premium experience.

Located in our general admission space, we’ve got a bouncy castle, mini golf holes, face painting, ponies to pat and swingball (lawn tennis) sets for the little ones to enjoy - for free.

Free Activity Packs

Younger ones joining us on course can come and collect a FREE activity pack from the Raceday Office or our face painters to keep them entertained between races.

Remembering Bonecrusher

Few horses captured the public imagination like Bonecrusher. The Frank Ritchie-trained chestnut was immortalised in Bill Collin’s unforgettable call of the 1986 Cox Plate, when Bonecrusher went to war with Waverley Star and emerged victorious in a race recognised as “the race of the century”.
