About Membership

There are three types of Membership to the Auckland Racing Club:


Standard Membership
There are many benefits for becoming a Member at the Auckland Racing Club. These include:

  • Admission to all Auckland Racing Club racemeetings
  • Access to the Ascot (Members') Stand at all Auckland Racing Club racemeetings
  • Members' Carpark Pass to all Auckland Racing Club racemeetings
  • Exclusive Membership Rewards Programme
  • Discount on raceday food and beverage purchases
  • Discount on premier raceday hospitality packages
  • Reciprocal rights with a number of New Zealand, Australian and international racing clubs, including priority purchasing of Melbourne Cup Carnival tickets
  • Complimentary subscription to the Auckland Racing Club newsletter and other exclusive Auckland Racing Club publications
  • Special events and promotions exclusive to Auckland Racing Club Members

Young Membership
Young Membership is available to those aged 18 - 29 years.

A Young Member receives the same benefits and privileges as a Standard Member (see above) but is only required to pay 50% of the annual subscription fee. 

Young Members are not eligible to stand for any elected office or propose or second a candidate for Membership (other than for Young Membership).

At the time a Young Member turns 30, his/her membership will be transferred to Standard Membership for the next renewal period.

A person aged between 18-29 may apply for Standard Membership at any time.

Gold Star Membership
Gold Star Membership is a VIP category of Membership available at the Club.

Gold Star Membership provides many additional benefits of standard Membership including a special reserved carpark, access to the private Gold Star Members' Lounge and complimentary morning and afternoon tea on all racedays.  

The Gold Star Membership fee is calculated on the age of the nominee and paid as a lump sum.

If a current Membership subscription has been paid, this will be deducted from the official Gold Star payment.

How to become a Member

To become a Member of the Auckland Racing Club you must be proposed and seconded by a current Auckland Racing Club Member. All applications are presented before the Board of Directors for approval at their monthly meetings.

Click here to email the Membership Secretary or call 09 524 4069 if you would like to apply, but do not know any current members.

Once your application is approved and payment is received you will be sent your Membership pack which details all aspects of being a Member at Auckland Racing Club.

Full payment of your subscription can be made with your application or once your application has been approved.

Please be advised that your Membership is for the racing year (1 August to 31 July) and not the calendar year from the month you join.
